Some more thought on Immigrants on our own land

I gave it a little more thought and reread the poem and I think what makes his story special and different is Bacas honesty, as well as his original imagery and the passion of his writing . He doesn't need to really imagine, he writes about what he feels and his past experiences.

Immigrants in our own land analysis

Theme-  The main theme is expectations vs reality . The immigrants or prisoners come each with their heart hoping they'll get a chance to change their lives , the reality is that hardly anybody will achieve their goals.

Tone -  The poem begins with a hopeful tone, by the end, it is more serious and almost a depressing tone .

Mood-  The mood is sad because we can feel the way prisoners suffer .

Devices - Imagery , Diction, metaphor

Immigrants on our own Land 1st Impression

My first impression after we read the poem was that it was really real and it makes you appreciate freedom .

An Earth Shattering Fart

Ray Bradburys story was pretty long but what I managed to understand from it was that he is asking us if we had a chance to go back in time would we do it. It also talked about protecting the wildlife at all costs and not harm anything in it.

EMERSON FOR THE YOUNG BUCK

What I've learned so far from Emerson's essay on Self Reliance is that he is sending us messages throughout his understanding or the way he sees things in life. One thing I've remembered clearly is that he tells us not to settle in conformity and to try to avoid it. He has a point in that because if we get used to conformity, then we will never change or get better as a person, whatever doesn't challenge us doesn't change us is what he's trieng to say. He also wants us to follow our own instincts and ideas. I think he is trieng to tell us that we should do whatever we want to do , and not let others be our decision makers. He also pointed out that although we are inventing so much technology and inventing many other things, we are becoming less active or we get lazier.  For instance we can't walk a mile without complaining, but back then it was nothing to people. We also can't think with our brains alot of the time we use our phones to help us out with everything. Emersons Self Reliance is a essay full of things to think about.

MY AMERICAN VOICE

I speak up only when I have to really. I'm not shy but I'm not all that loud either. I think it is important to speak up in certain situations, like someone is getting bullied or you have a question or concern .

Respect my Authority?

I think some people with authority abuse and take advantage of their power sometimes, like for example police shooting people just because they have a badge on that makes them the law. Or teachers acting like their your boss, and not allowing you to ever argue with them, even when your right and their wrong.

My first impression of the story was that it's another kind of mysterious story hard to understand if you don't know what the author is talking about. I think the guy might be crazy.

Response to "The Right to your opinion"

I started reading a little bit and it reminded me that we all have the right to our opinions, and we can almost never be wrong about our opinions because it's what we think about something, and we're all allowed to think differently and have different ideas because that's what makes us who we are.

Welcome!
